Welcome to the site!

San Davis has been doing some form of art most of her life. She used crayons and paint-by-number oil paintings at home during her elementary years. Her current artistic endeavors are working with acrylics, mixed media, pen and ink drawings, and watercolors.

San combines her God-given talent with being a self-taught artist. She creates abstracts, art that deals with social issues, and humor.

She also designs hats and makes flower arrangements, home decorations, pillows, Christmas ornaments, jewelry, Halloween costumes, and t-shirts.

Her approach to art is similar to that of a scientist. While learning new techniques, she does some experimenting. She likes creating new methods that will get the same results.

Inspirations came from many people she met during her lifetime. A lady she met as a child was one of those people. She could look at a picture of a clothing item and then make it without a pattern. San accomplished something similar to that. A friend needed some skirts made, but provided only fabric and thread.

This new phase of artistic expression for San started in January 2016. She doesn't want to be known as an acrylic artist or a watercolor artist, but just an artist. Her creations depend on what she wants to do that day.

When talking about the phrase "thinking outside the box," San doesn't think she was ever inside the box.
